Cake pops... or cake flops?

Back in June this year, I tried to make cake pops for dessert. The materials came in a kit from the grocery store and it seemed simple enough, but somehow the cake pops ended up as cake... flops. The chocolate did not melt well at all and burned to a crisp, the cake balls kept sliding off of the stick thingies... but at least it tasted a bit good, I think. It was very sweet and frosted! :)




Oh... I was looking at some of the pictures I had taken during this... experiment, and noticed the time stamps on them. The first picture (starting with the baked cake mix) says it was taken June 28th at 2:16 PM. The last one, however, which shows the completed cake pops on a cooking tray, reads June 28th at 5:25 PM.

It makes me a little uncomfortable to think that I spent at least three hours of hard work on stuff that looks like something a pigeon might have regurgitated.
