| I love my burrds. :B |
It's finally winter vacation!! Well, it has been winter vacation since about December 8-ish... but I haven't really felt like writing anything here since then. I was just so glad to have gotten my interview done! These past few days, I have been doing fun things! I've watched HunterxHunter episodes (both the old and the 2011 versions), cooked (sort of?), played lots of Scrabble, gushed over the latest Bleach chapter on DB, and did other fun stuff that I can't really remember.
Today, I had to wake up a little bit early for an orthodontist appointment. The doctor and nurse filed some of my bottom-row teeth to make room for other teeth to move forward. There was a lot of water and screechy machines involved in the procedure. Now my bottom teeth look kind of anorexic? 「(゚ペ)
After that, mama and I went to some grocery stores and bought tasty foods. Because I have the sudden urge to pic spam right now, here are a few things that we bought:
 |
| Cubanero peppers. Fresh, crunchy, juicy, and not spicy at all :) ! |
 |
| Tasty grapes. |
 |
| Bean sprouts. chomp |
 |
| Tofu... with Kung-fu Panda?? |
 |
| My favorite!!! (*゜Д゜*) |
So... yes, lots of tasty foods. Then we went to the post office to drop off a package. The post office was decorated for the winter holidays.
After that, we finally went home. I was feeling quite hungry, so I ate some cupanoodles. Can you guess what flavor it was?
It was
Cheddar Cheese flavored.
Yes,
that flavor that everyone is too wimpish to try because it seems like it would definitely taste nasty. Before today, I was of a similar wimpish mindset; I always stuck to the safe flavors of "beef" and "chicken," while secretly eyeing the "cheddar cheese" flavor with a mixture of disgust and grudging respect. Even Wikipedia is too wimpish to host pictures of the "cheddar cheese" flavor ramen:
But all of that changed today, when I had an epiphany and remembered the words of
howard chackowicz a very wise man: "Say
YES to life."
So I did. ( ̄ー ̄)
It was actually quite good. When I first opened the package, it gave off a pungent
whuff of macaroni-and-cheese scent, so I started having serious second thoughts about it... but when I finally had a taste of it, it was not unpleasant.
 |
| Definitely going on my "Crowning Life Achievements" list. *twirls imaginary mustache* |
The taste is not overly cheesy, contrary to what you might expect. It has a pretty light flavor, so it didn't make me feel queasy or anything. But in the end, I couldn't make myself drink the soup...
 |
| Cheesy soup? I don't think so. :| |
That particular Life Achievement will just have to wait. *sigh*
After that strenuous ordeal, mama showed me how to cook a delicious dish called "
Palestinian Surprise." I don't know if that is the real name for the dish, but we always call it that. We will be eating Palestinian Surprise for lunch today!
 |
| Tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, and celery. |
 |
| Potatoes soaking in water. |
 |
| Pan. |
 |
| Mixing potatoes with the rest of the veggies, and adding spices. |
 |
| There is Kuwaiti spice, crushed cardamom, salt, and black pepper. |
 |
| And garlic :D ! |
 |
| Crushed cardamom. Mama said it makes the food smell good. |
 |
| Crushed cardamom. |
 |
| Kuwaiti spice. |
 |
| I wonder what Kuwaiti spice is made of. |
 |
| Mixing, mixing. |
Please enjoy this pointless
and difficult to make gif for the rest of this complicated process:
(I don't know why the pics in the gif turned out so blotchy and weird-looking... but I don't wanna deal with it anymore. It was hard enough to make for something so simple and short! >:[ I feel like "Technology Impaired Duck" right now...)
Anyway, I had a lot of fun today. Bye bye!
It was fun to see your day! That dinner looks good :3
