Mama baked two marble cakes, and it was very fun to watch how to make the swirly chocolate patterns. ^^
Mama also showed me how to make yellow rice. It's pretty much just white rice but with some added spices and turmeric powder to give it color. It tastes good if you add chopped onions and garlic to it. Yum yum.
Then you cover it and let the water dissipate.
It should look something like this:
The sippy cup is not mine.
It's very tasty to eat alongside fried fish.
A few days later, we had a small potluck party at our house and invited a few family friends over. There were many different foods to eat, but I didn't take pics of everything:
Basket noodle sweets... very tasty. I don't know what the proper name of this dessert is.
Fried rice. This was actually for breakfast, but whatever.
Namie's soapy cake-cookies from Publix. Each one is worth 10% of your daily fat allowance. ew
There was also some tasty chicken cooked in the oven, and our guests brought some homemade sushi and a yam pie. It was a fun, but pretty tiring day, even though I wasn't extreeemely helpful in the kitchen. :D
Yesterday, our entire family went out together. We drove around downtown and saw lots of interesting things, like a massive cruise ship anchored at a port. It really was a huge ship! Written in a fancy script along the side of the boat was the name "Prince of the Seas." Nufufu. All of us were daydreaming about what it would be like to travel on the ship until mama and papa told us that most of the people who boarded those kinds of ships were gamblers and prostitutes. ಠ_ಠ Oh well.
Later that day, we drove to a big mall and got to visit the Sanrio store. It was nice because they had a lot of items 50% off for the end-of-the-year sale. I bought an umbrella I'd wanted since our last visit there! It normally costed $24, but I was able to buy it for $12 because of the sale, so I am very happy. It's so pink and frilly, and when you open it (by pressing the cute hello kitty head button :D), there's like a little transparent heart thingy on one side so that you can sort of peep out of it while you're walking in the rain and not bump into solid, painful objects or people. How useful and cute! I don't feel like taking a picture of it right now, but maybe I'll post one later on. :)
Well, that's about it for now. Bye!
